According to WitsView’s top ten monitor brand shipment survey, the aggregated shipments surged by 33.4% MoM to 12.91 million units in Mar11.The primary reason was because after the holiday distributors returned to the normal pulling of goods, and also March is the end of the first accounting quarter for most brand vendors. Besides a spurt in shipments within this month, some brand vendors have made gains in the commercial markets, which was also the impetus for shipment growth in March. As to the outlook of April’s shipment, WitsView forecasts that in addition to being currently in the traditional low season for Europe and the U.S., the May 1 holidays in China will be relatively shorter this year, therefore other than the limited help to end-market sales, the need for early stocking by distributors is not high. Thus, there will be a drop of 8-12% in shipping MoM.
